Uncharted 4 A Thief's End Libertalia Colllector's Edition for the PS4 IS OUT!

In line with the next gen trend (i.e., the video game industry's trend of catering to and milking the  different strata of video game hobbyist), Sony has just released a variety of editions for the Nathan Drake Adventure, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. For collectors in search of pieces for their hobbyist caves, the Libertalia Collector's Edition is already available on Amazon as well as Gamestop.

Uncharted 4 comes before the end of Q1 next year, March 18, 2016.

  • The Libertalia Collector's Edition includes: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End
  • 12" Premium Drake Statue
  • Two EXCLUSIVE instant multiplayer unlocks: Madagascar Sidekick Outfits & Henry Avery Sigil Ball Cap
  • Five additional instant multiplayer unlocks: UNCHARTED: Drake's Fortune Outfit, Heist Drake Outfit, Desert Drake Outfit, Golden Weapon Skin, and Desert Weapon Skin
  • Collectible Steelbook Case, 48-Page Hardcover Art Book by Dark Horse, Naughty Dog & Pirate Sigil Sticker Sheet, and Naughty Dog Points to unlock more multiplayer content
I'm counting on collectors to go after the Nathan Drake Statue more than anything really, but fans are in for a treat as far as digital content bonuses are concerned, depending on where they preorder theirs.

Pre-order nowAmazon Pre-order Bonus
Pre-order from today and get the Amazon exclusive Snow Camo Weapon Skin - exclusive unlock to apply to all weapons in UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End Multiplayer.

I got wind of this from Playstation US's blog site, and you can read more including what fans are feeling and thinking right now at the comments section:

More details are on the Playstation site regarding the other editions though and it'll depend how much people are willing to spend for their fandom

In the meantime, here's a sneak peek of what to expect in this next chapter of Nathan Drake's adventures:

Nintendo Special Edition Shockers WTF Moments: Nintendo WiiU Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition

Updates (10-14-15): While copies of Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition for the Wii U have been sold out on Amazon, other online retailers have this limited collector's edition set well stocked and are listed on their respective websites!

And even as I schemed on how to get a reasonably priced full scale replica of Big Boss' arm from arguably Hideo Kojima's magnum opus, i.e. Metal Gear Solid V - The Phantom Pain Premium Edition, which is only officially sold in Japan...

Hideo Kojima on his masterpiece

A full scale replica of an item from a videogame masterpiece of course is simply miles ahead from a half-scale one for serious collectors. The downside to this of course is you have to know how to read and understand Japanese to fully appreciate the gaming experience aside from owning a mechanized forearm-and-hand display piece.

Fortunately, there's a US/English collector's version of this title (NTSC-U/C), which sold out quickly months back. It's been re-populated of late, quite possibly by panicking pre-order customers who bought more than one set with a plan to resell the extra one at a higher price (how does it feel scalpers?) It's just that they're against the wall since this game will be released tomorrow September 1, 2015 (States side). Curiously, due to getting squeezed out by the timing of the release, sellers have inserted multiple listings:

My hopes grew dimmer after I got word of how highly rated the reviews were from reputable video game sites. And yes, the prices spiked as expected. This game may indeed be Hideo Kojima's piece de resistance to his beloved Metal Gear franchise just after bitterly parting ways with Konami:

In any case, there's still a way to take part and experience this masterpiece, without a replica of a dude's arm, whether half scale or full scale!

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Anyway, on with this rant. I received a surprise left hook with another game that went out of stock online in a flash. In less than a day, everything got sold out. Can somebody tell me if there's an exclusive insider Nintendo fanboys group that's already got their mice ready to click and checkout online, grabbing multiple copies in the process and reselling them at ridiculous prices for crazy margins?

The game was announced months ago and with this title/installment, this is officially a Nintendo franchise now. Xenoblade was highly praised Role Playing Game (RPG) for the Wii despite the technological limitations of Nintendo's console.

It was so good that it had an "upgraded" iteration on the 3DS

It's worth mentioning that the "Xeno" mythos takes its roots from Squaresoft's mecha RPG masterpiece Xenogears, and it's definitely has one of the deepest plots you'll ever encounter playing video games (philosophically and theologically, and it's pretty old, since it was released for the Playstation 1). Thankfully, you can still buy one online and experience its gameplay and incredible plot.

Succeeding this game were the Xenosaga Titles (for the Playstation 2), that were pretty decent but did not captivate as much in my opinion. I have yet to get to finish Xenosaga II and Xenosaga III in fact, and my copies have been wasting away on my shelves unfortunately.

And so for latecomers with online shopping carts, all that's left is to hope that new stocks will be relisted at the soonest for this Special Edition. It seems like taking part in events like Pax Prime pays:

And just to rub-in the disappointment for latecomers, here's how the set will look like

I'd recommend monitoring this ASIN Page on Amazon, because all the other sites, Gamestop, Bestbuy, ToysRUs, BestBuy, etal don't have similar listings like this:

As for those who only got wind of the news of Xenoblade Chronicles X just now after enjoying Xenoblade, there's a standard edition still up for preorder:

The game is scheduled for released just weeks before Christmas, December 4, 2015.

Here are some shots of what's included in the Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition for the Nintendo WiiU:
